Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I am thankful for so many things....my family and friends, my job, that the surgery went well, that we got my Grandma's house and so many other things.  Tonight Joseph made a turkey dinner, it was super yummy.  I was able to have a little of everything - turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a bite of bread.  I didn't feel left out at all.

Tonight we are going to hit up some black Friday sales at Toys R Us and Walmart.  Wish us luck!!

2 Week Doctor's Appointment

Had my 1st Dr.s appointment today since surgery.  I am officially down 17 pounds according to their scale.  The Dr. told me I can start eating moist solid food - yeah!!!  For lunch I had some chicken salad on  saltine crackers and for dinner I had 1 oz. of chicken and 1/4 cup of refried beans.  The best meals I have had in a while.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and luckily we are just hanging out at home and going to see a movie.  It should be pretty easy to stay on track.  Joseph is making turkey breast, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable - maybe I'll have a Popsicle for dessert.  I am now able to exercise to the fullest so next week I would like to go to Zumba, and dance lessons.  The Dr. set my goal weight at 170 and told me I should expect to lose 12-15 pounds a month and should hit my goal weight in 7 months.  That seems so soon, and not real yet.

Liquid Diet

I have been on a liquid diet for almost 2 weeks and am ready to move to pureed food.  My first Dr. visit is scheduled for Wednesday and hopefully he moves me to the next level.  I have had a couple of pureed foods and have tolerated them just fine. I just want the Dr.s approval.  So far I haven't been sick and have had no issues, just a little tired in the afternoon.  I have been tracking everything I eat on Spark People and that seems to help see how much protein I'm getting in.  My husband, Joseph has been super supportive, he makes me all sorts of creations to try so I don't get bored.  Tonight he made cottage cheese with soy milk, cinnamon and all spice.  It was pretty good and the soy milk definitely helps with he protein.
